Handling Conflict in Organization

Abstract


Organizations are responsible for creating a work environment that enables people to thrive. If turf war, disagreement, and differences of opinion escalate into conflict you must intervene immediately. Conflict in the organization can be constructive or destructive for an organization. Most of the time it is destructive affecting morale, productivity and even turnover. In fact, the Chinese character for "conflict" represents two meanings, opportunity and danger. As a manager you need to find and focus on how to make it beneficial and how to minimize the negative aspects. As the CEO, you have to create an organizational culture that encourage and even rewards good conflict management, your goal has to be to increase the benefits achieved from managing and encouraging beneficial conflict, like task and process conflict, while managing, resolving and reducing the negative effects of relationship conflict. This article looks in to how to manage conflict in the organization. It provides definite positive and negative consequences, theory, type, example, current research results, conflict management strategies with their related studies, and resolution process of conflict. Different writers have defined organizational conflict in different way. The common key words, which are used in these definitions, are frustration, incongruence, incompatibility and mismatch. There are six levels of conflict: Intra-individual conflict, Inter-individual conflict, Intra-group conflict, Inter-group conflict, Intra-organizational conflict and Inter-organizational conflict. Another important organizational concept is the "Organizational Commitment". The four approaches to study and conceptualize OC are: Attitudinal approach, Behavioral approach, normative approach and Multidimensional approach. This paper is an attempt to understand the causes, consequences and types of conflicts and suggest remedial steps for the smooth functioning of the organization.

                 Mainly the Globalisation is necessary for the countries.  The globalisation means the closer integration of the countries , peoples of the world and also world economic growth.
                 Globalisation lead to higher overall growth rates for almost all economies.By this we can say that the economic policies of countries should take best advantage of the international economy.
               Globalisation brings considerable opportunities to increase the prosperity of all nations. Right now India has the enormous source of software and technical peoples, which leads to tremendous growth due to globalisation by the forigne company investments.so this is the one of the opportunity due to globalization and also the globalization increases the wages of the international standards, its distribution shift is within labour itself between skilled and unskilled workers.
                      The globalization technology allows people to pursue their own goals and they are given the liberty to do. So that the personal liberty or the freedoms, we enjoy in our own economy to the whole world.
                    Due to this globalisation the countries countries, improved their economic and financial management, strengthned in law and justice & also strengthened in democratic systems.
 CONCLUSION :
 Globalisation needs more economic and individual growth in the country.
For developing country such as India, it has to increase their educational standards, infrastructures & etc to meet the international standards.
And also we have to improve some efficient  economic policies, due to this we can attract more MNC’.  It automatically increases the growth for India.
One important point is for India globalisation is necessary, at the same time we should not loose our Indian cultures and traditions…

GD Topic: Money or job satisfaction, which motivates youth

               We all know the proverb that ‘Money makes many things’. We need money for doing any thing. In order to survive we need money. We are buying water to drink.  Everybody wants to lead a comfortable life so for that sake we need money to satisfy ourselves.  So the youth are mainly motivated towards towards earning money and to lead a comfortable life.
         The youth will be having high ambitions and dreams. For example some will have the ambition to start an oldagehome or orphanage home or to start a school or to help the poor people. In that case they will get motivated towards money. So they want to earn more money and to full fill there dreams. The youth wants to lead an independent life, with out depending on their parents for their higher studies. So in that case in that case they think only about the money.
                     When come to the job satisfaction the youth is giving more importance to the status in the society. They want to be in a good position. In this case they think about the job satisfaction. If they are in a good position then money will automatically come. So here also the money matter comes. Job satisfaction comes when their work is identified, and if they get any rewards for their work, and if they have paid enough money for their job.
                            Most of the people will be having ambitions like to become an IAS or IPS or doctor. But in that only some will be having the intention to serve the people. They will not think about the money. So only these people think about the job satisfaction.
                                 Finally only few people are thinking about the job satisfaction. But mostly every body thinks about money.

GD Topic: Cellphones Should be Allowed in Colleges or Not

          Now a days cell phones are used by different people for different   purposes. These cell phones are more useful today for getting information quickly and also for taking immediate actions. Most of the students using cell phones today.  Because the companies are giving concession for the student for example BSNL etc.
        These Cell phones are mostly used by students who are studying in different places leaving their parents. So each and every student using Cell phones today.
            The major problem today is use of cell phones inside the college is allowed or not.We know that educational institutions are the places where the goddess saraswathi is there. So in colleges discipline is followed, if we use cell phones in the college it  corrupts the discipline in the college so cell phones should not be allowed in the college. Today use of cell phones inside the colleges creating major problems.
       Cell phones  outside the college is allowed but inside the college is not allowed. i.e. use  of cell phones inside the college are prohibited. This prohibition because of so much of disturbance  created by this. Use of cell phones in the class room deviates the students and lecturers concentration.
    If cell phones are allowed in the college it corrupts the discipline in the college, because by using cell phones students ignores their studies & they can’t give respect to their lecturers. use of cell phones misleads the students from their usual activities.
                       Use of cell phones in the college at the time of examination is also Prohibited, if any body uses cell phones at the time of examination it leads to severe problem.
                       Use of cell phones inside the hostels are also baned in some colleges, because it wastes the time of students and they can’t concentrate on their studies. Use of cell phones in the hostel also leads to ragging, so it is prohibited in some hostels.
                       On the other side cell phones are more useful for students. By using Cell phones they will get more valuable information from their friends also they will always be in contact with their parents. Students are nothing but the youth if they are having cell phones they will take the immediate decisions
in any critical situation.

Globalization is no longer an abstraction but a stark reality that virtually all firms, large and a small, face. Firms that want to survive in the 21st century must confront this all encompassing force that pervades every aspect of business. In a wide range of industries from automobiles to food and clothing, firms face the pressures of global competition at home as well as in international markets. Choosing not to participate in global markets is no longer an option. All firms, regardless of their size, have to craft strategies in the broader context of world markets to anticipate, respond and adapt to the changing configuration of these markets. Firms initially entering international markets will be more concerned with learning about international markets, selecting an appropriate arena to compete, and determining how to leverage core competencies in international markets. Once in international markets, firms have to build their position in these markets, establishing a strong local presence by developing new products and adapting to local tastes and preferences. As the firm expands internationally, it will need to move away from country-centred strategies and improve integration and coordination across national markets, leveraging its competencies and skills to develop a leadership position.

E-Governance and Impact in Educational Sector

The application of Information Technology (IT) is fairly widespread by now in India in the private sector. However, when it comes to public governance, India has been a laggard in the utilisation of IT.   The common man has benefited from the e-governance measures implemented so far. Perhaps the best example in India of how e-governance can lead to order out of chaos and put paid to the machinations of the ungodly is the replacement of the old ballot system by electronic voting in elections.  Despite these advantages, e-governance has not yet made much headway in government in India.

For workers infrequent doses of job stress pose little threat and may be effective in increasing motivation and productivity, but too much -- and too prolonged -- can lead to a downward spiral -- both professionally and personally.
Some jobs, by definition, tend to be higher stress -- such as ones that are in dangerous settings (fire, police), that deal with demanding customers (service providers), that have demanding time pressures (healthcare), and that have repetitive detailed work (manufacturing) -- but stress is not limited to any one particular job or industry.
